Dammit Jack Play Their Home Town, Derby/Midlands Wedding Band.

Derby Wedding Band ‘Dammit Jack’ Play at The Holly Bush Makeney

Having had a short break after the Christmas party season it was a very welcome event for Derby Wedding band, Dammit Jack,  to play at such a warm homely environment.

The event was in honour of their head chef Darren, who sadly is moving on from ‘The Bush’ to take time with his family before moving on to his next venture. The event was based with a fun Scottish theme as Darren himself is a wee bit bonnie!

The Holly Bush is famed throughout the Midlands for it’s warm open fires, exceptional pork pies and massive selection of real ales. What’s more is that Drummer, Jack and vocalist/guitarist George, are both ex-eployees! Making the event much more exciting for them.

“As we namely play weddings, parties and corporate events it made a lovely chance to play such a personal and intimate show” – Jack

Tiny Rooms Mean Tiny A Setup

As wedding band Dammit Jack are used to playing large wedding venues which require huge speaker systems and this show was similar to playing in your front room, the band decided to use their smallest setup which consists of an ultra slim speaker system, the ‘Bose L1’ and instead of a drum kit, a cajon, which was used for the percussion section.

This setup allows the band to still sound fantastic in the smallest of venues (although Jack still prefers a real drum kit).

If you don’t know about it, it’s not so easy to find!

If you’ve not had the chance to visit this amazing little gem then we highly recommend that you do!

However you may have to use a SatNav as it’s hidden away in the quiet little hamlet of Makeney, but just search for this address – Holly Bush Lane, Makeney, Belper DE56 0RX and you’ll be good and drunk in no time!

They also host amazing beer festivals and other events, details of which can be found on their website here.

Speaking of getting drunk, it’s nearly February and as all three of the brothers are looking forward to a wet one after their dry January. So cheers everyone and we look forward to seeing you soon! x
